💁🏾‍♀️❗️There's nothing unprofessio 💁🏾‍♀️❗️There's nothing unprofessional about Black hair. Black folks have to go through so many places existing while Black, thinking about their hair, their skin, their voice, where they came from and so much more. Black kids are put into detention for our hair while white kids hair is called cool and stylish. The hair that naturally grows out of our heads or the styles we choose that represent how we feel so we can feel good inside and out. In the work place, in school, in public, Black folks just wanna be safe, there is only so much silencing people can take before they become a shell of themselves, afraid to be who they want because the world won't let them succeed or be great if their hair and their skin isn't good enough in white eyes.

I always want Black kids to know that they are amazing, that they should be able to have the autonomy to style themselves no matter where they are but if environments reinforce that this isn't a good thing, words can only go so far. So schools, universities, work places, everywhere has to learn how to embrace Blackness without finding a way to diminish it. When you argue in the name of "professionalism" of how Black folks should look, dress, speak, you're harming us. Black Autonomy is ours, we aren't here to please you, we're here to be ourselves.

A lottt of stigma around taking anti-depressants, A lottt of stigma around taking anti-depressants, I've been on it for almost 3 years and it's changed my life so much🩷

There is nothing to be ashamed of, I used to be scared of taking them in public, people giving me strange looks and making me feel like it's something you should hide.

Took a while to unlearn and remove myself from judgement spaces, I take different medications and treatments for my conditions and that's totally okay, it's more than okay!🩷 taking time to learn what works for you and how YOU feel.

There are so many forms of medications and treatment ppl can take, learnt from different cultures around the world and it's all about what works for you 🥳 judgement isn't needed just love innit.

There is no weakness in it, but so much power and beauty in taking your own journey
