Tis' the season to get back into what you love🥹 Tis' the season to get back into what you love🥹. I was checking out the links in my bio were all working and came across my J.O.D. website, realising I hadn't written in a while. As a creative I knew it was completely natural to engage in different art forms, but writing is where it all started.

From blogging about a school trip in year 9 to writing for @blackballaduk !! Always been called a chatterbox since primary school and I've got a lot to say (also I'm running out of pages in my journal 😂) so 🚨EDITORS! I wanted to get back into writing more often 🥳 Love to write about Black, LGBTQIA+ and non-binary experiences, disability, mental health, lifestyle, art & films. 📧journalsofdami@hotmail.com (email also on my page contact details) #journorequest

Also, if you know any fab publications that have open pitches pls lemme know in comments or DM❤️❤️

People shouldn't be having to choose between food or heating, the Royal family shoeing up at food banks in luxury cars and designer fits. Black folks fearing for our lives and needing to scream just for people to hear a fraction of our words, governments blocking life saving access and rights for the LGBTQ+ community, medical staff risking their lives during lockdown to be met with disgusting conditions, terrible pay and lies.

Being able to live should all be a right. Not a privilege. So why are we having to fight to survive?

🚨Your proximity to Black people does not absolv 🚨Your proximity to Black people does not absolve your racism. It's irritating how many times I've heard "I can't be racist! I dated a Black person." What YOU said, what YOU did is the issue. Black folks aren't here to make you feel better in your behaviour, we just want to exist without the stress of this world.

What you say, what you do, this can be racist PERIOD, being friends with, dating Black ppl etc doesn't make that go away, it just means you're racist and willfully ignorant.

Again, Black folks go through so much, we deserve joy in our life. As a Black and Queer person it's horrible when this happens to you, environments and relationships that were once safe lose that calmness. If someone calls you out, and this annoying reply is your response you're contributing to the problem.

To do better you need to listen to Black folks don't speak over us when we open up, take accountability for your actions and do better.
